Attacks From Within:

White Evangelical Christians don’t just have to hear these accusations from the public media and politicians, we have to endure the attacks from within the Evangelical Intelligentsia. These claims are made at conferences and in the daily correspondence from the ERLC with Russell Moore at its head or The Gospel Coalition or fill in the blank. Remember that all of this starts in earnest in the 2007-2010 range. I haven’t yet covered all the players in the money flowing into Evangelical Intelligentsia yet but if You haven’t listen to it yet you need to go and listen to Michael O’Fallon with Sovereign Nations who was in the meetings at ground zero when this push started in the SBC. The goal was/is to change the political affiliations of Evangelicals.

I’ll never forget in 2015 when I heard Michelle Higgins give her talk on Social Justice at the Urbana 15 Intervarsity Student Missions Conference. I was not in attendance but listened to it online. She talked about Social Justice and how white people were racist and she was excited that a number of white churches were working on crafting repentance statements about slavery. She called white missionaries who brought the Gospel to indigenous people in the Americas racists. She claimed to be proclaiming biblical truth. She attacked white Evangelical Christians for being against abortion and trying to defund Planned Parenthood rather than being willing to adopt a child because WECs only want a big show about how much they desire mercy rather than actually being merciful. She downplayed Black Lives Matters as simply liberal which she said only means “pro-choice.” She didn’t mention that its founders were self proclaimed Lesbian Marxists. We’ll talk more about that later. She (Higgins) actually went on to promote Black Lives Matter and claimed it was connected in mission with God.

The Social Justice champions haven’t slowed down in the mean time. Jeff Maples pointed out in his article that on July 21, 2019 Latasha Morrison spoke at a CRU19 conference and basically bashed white people the whole time and lauded Social Justice and accused the white Church in general of racism and partisan divide using the language of Critical Race Theory. She tried to uphold the revisionist history and false message of the 1619 Project. Toward the end Latasha led everyone in attendance in a long lament using the language of Critical Race Theory and Liberation Theology. To see the whole talk on CRU’s website go here. After listening to these and Russell Moore from the ERLC or Tim Keller from TGC etc. I am still waiting for specific examples of white people and churches that are institutionally racist. There is no doubt that there are racists out there because sinners do exist even in the Church but to make blanket statements about all white people and white guilt is using Critical Race Theory language for which there is no redemption. There is no doubt that racism is a sin and after a person is saved they are to live righteously following the Lord’s commands but after listening to hours of “Evangelical” Social Justice warriors pontificate about racism and how white people need to apologize I am still left scratching my head about where they are seeing these massive acts or beliefs of racism overflowing in the public arena and more specifically in the Church.

Note that Christ said in the Sermon on the Mount that “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14(NKJV)” John points out that“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9(NKJV) So if we confess our sins then forgiveness can be found from the Father but the pushers of CRT offer no forgiveness or end to the reconciliation process. When Peter came to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven”. Matthew 18:21-22(NKJV) . In Colossians 3:13 Paul admonishes “Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” Forgiveness at some point is called for as Christ said “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25.

They claim a desire for reconciliation but then we see those who have tried it can never do enough. This may not make much sense but in Part 2 I am going to share some highlights with you from 2 specialists in Critical Race Theory that explain why white people are considered to be racist all the time no matter how much repentance for the sins of previous generations is allotted.
